a dope ass screenwriter.
As a plus-sized Black woman, I’ve never related to a white woman more than Meredith Grey when she pleaded, "Pick me. Choose ​me. Love me."
This plea deeply resonates with my own artistic journey for authentic representation in the media. Throughout my career, I’ve ​been on a mission to ensure that the stories of marginalized communities are not only told but celebrated. My tenure as a ​development executive at Lifetime TV involved shaping culturally shifting narratives for significant projects like "Surviving R. ​Kelly," "Surviving Epstein," and "Mahalia," sparking vital conversations about systemic issues and giving a voice to the voiceless.
My writing delves into the complexities of identity and the human condition, with characters that reflect real human ​vulnerabilities. In series like "Hotline" and "#Stressed," I challenge viewers and foster crucial dialogues on mental health, ​acceptance, and resilience. These projects are more than just entertainment; they are powerful tools for change, illuminating the ​darkest corners of our experiences and showing that we are not alone in our struggles.
My writing is a reflection of my commitment to breaking barriers and challenging norms.
In every script, I strive to weave stories that are not just about representation, but also about transformation. My work is about ​showing that all bodies, all experiences, and all identities are worthy of being seen and celebrated. I am Jasmine Patrice White, ​and I am here to create stories that matter.
